helpppppp please
by wondering2007 inso im in a predicament and seeking help from a few of you willing to make a phone call tommorow to the society during office hours.
ok so im here in pineville louisiana but were going to be frozen over as of tommorow night and friday night with snow ice and sleet.
the pipes on our house rboke yesterday because we also had a storm yesterday and the pipes broke overnite so now we have a mes.

Oddly my therapist was a JW and I had to sigh a paper that was given to me that if I revealed a gross sin the therapist would disclose that information to my body of elders.
I think that is so unethical but then again if he was JW he was also a brainwashed follower of the cult so I guess you have to expect such behavior.
I went from being depressed to happy once I left the Watchtower so I can relate to how you feel. I'm glad you and your wife are doing well now.

elders would like a talk with me
by varian inhi everyone.. i recently had a phone call from an elder of my former cong.
they would like to chat with me, and obviously want to encourage me to come back.. to make a long story short: the last 4 or five years i was a jw in their kh, i was more or less completly ignored.
had in that time no phone calls, visits or any interest how i felt etc.

I'd say: "You never bothered to come and see me when I was sick so why now?" They had their chance to show you that they cared about you and did take it. If they were calling to ask you out for a beer or to take you to dinner that would be a different matter. But they're not. If you really want to see them have a Christmas party next year and invite them.

My Story
by Crank!!! inmy story starts off the same way a lot of yours did, i was born into the jw cult in 1986. my mother got kicked out of her house for studying with her older sister when she was 15. my dad was also born into the jw world.
my mom and dad got divorced when i was 5 (my mother had scriptual grounds) so she raised my younger sister, brother and i mostly by herself.
because of her beliefs she adamantly did not want us having any worldly influences, so she chose to home school all of us.

Great story Crank. I read Jag's post a few days ago. You guys sound like a lovely couple. I'm glad Jag's family is supportive. Not much you can do about your mother except keep her from poisoning the relationships between you and your wife and your child. This Watchtower craziness probably all seems very foreign to her family. If you haven't been involve with the Watchtower this could all seem pretty far fetched. I was involved in it and yet there are times when I look at the horrors posted here and think I wouldn't believe this if I hadn't been a part of that crazy organization.

Thanks for the info DB. I guess older Witnesses can be thankful that satan's organization isn't as short sighted as Jehovah's. At least they'll be able to collect social security if nothing else. It just amazes that more haven't woke up yet. Or maybe a lot of them have but fear leaving because they have been in it so long they don't know what to do. I do feel bad for those who have wasted their lives peddling the Watchtower's false hope instead of doing something useful.

I guess you could carry the illustration a little further. Like every day for years you see the little boy eating ice cream. Then he grows into a young man and he is still eating ice cream every day. Now he is middle aged and still getting all the ice cream. And you're thinking "what the f..." When am I going to get some ice cream. Then when you are 50 and still haven't had any ice cream you realize that someone was lying to you about the boy because they wanted all the money you were planning to spend on ice cream.
